Overpopulation; An Individual Problem

It seems the universe is against its law that says “cut your cloth according to your size”. Have we ever thought that the world would have been a better place if we are not so many?. Living an easy life is a choice you make for yourself by limiting your responsibilities.

Nigeria is said to be one of the most grossly overpopulated countries in the world. Overpopulation refers to a population which exceeds it’s sustainable size within a particular environment or habitat. It occurs when the resources of an area cannot provide for the occupants. Have we ever thought that over population is not a national problem but an individual problem?

The problem with our population is not based on numbers of head rather its based on individual resources and responsibilities. For instance, Let Mr Abu with a salary of 1000$ groom a family of 5 and Mr Collins with a salary of 3000$ groom a family of 11, there would surely not be problem as Mr Femi resources is enough to cater for his responsibilities but it seems the other way round that’s why some are having excesses when others don’t have enough.

Basically every citizen should be able to evaluate his/her available resources. Its not fair to live a life where you cannot fully fund your family members.. Living a life where your children would have to think about your financial status before they call figures shouldn’t be your aim in life.
We should all strive not to bring problems into our personal world by doing the right thing at the right time in the right way. Societal pressure shouldn’t force you to take responsibilities that you’re not financially ready to take on because it wouldn’t affect just you but also the innocent offspring and lastly the society itself.
